The Shrinker Latte

So, I'm in love with the new Trim Healthy Mama drink, The Shrinker. I drink it at least once a day, so I decided to see what else I could do with this delicious chai like drink. And I made a frozen latte with it, and it is YUM!

All the power of Oolong tea in a icy cold drink....starbucks...Move over!!!

Here's the recipe....

-Steep 2 tea bags of oolong tea in 8 oz of boiling water until it's a comfortable enough temperature to handle....about 20-30 minutes.

-Put it in your blender and add about 2-3 shakes of cinnamon and 1-2 shakes of cayenne pepper, or more to your taste

-Add 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk, one scoop of whey protein powder, a dash of vanilla, a couple dashes of sea salt.

-Add sweetener. I used 3 tsp of truvia and a couple dashes of nunaturals stevia.

-Add one to one and a half trays of ice, and turn the blender on.

-With the blender running, add 1/4 tsp of glucomannan. Run for about 30 seconds, turn off for about 30 seconds and then run again for another 30 seconds to a minute.

-Pour into a big ole quart jar, top with some fat free Reddi Whip, and sprinkle some cinnamon on top, and enjoy the awesomeness!

This would be a FP, but alternately you could add cream if you wanted it as an S.

I'll have to try this because honestly, I don't really like the Shrinker yet. I'll keep trying though :)
Thanks for sharing,

Thanks for linking at Trim Healthy Tuesday! I'm still learning to like the Shrinker. It took me a while for GGMS, so I'm not surprised. :-)

this is awesome! i couldn't make myself like the Shrinker... till now. do you know if it's ok to sip all day or should it be kept as a snack?

Love this! I don't really care for the original Shrinker. Should this be kept as a meal/snack, or can it be sipped throughout the day?

I love this and my daughter doesn't like tea but b I made but for her and she gulped down. She didn't even realize it had tea! What type of cream should I add to make it a S?

Sorry I've taken so long to answer questions....Thank you guys so much! I'm so glad you have enjoyed it! I think that with most THM drinks that I've seen, they suggest if you are drinking something as a meal replacement to use a whole scoop of protein powder, but if it's a snack, use only a half scoop, so that's what I would suggest.

You could use regular whipping cream or even half and half, but I think that this drink does it's best work as a fuel pull, so just something to consider. I sometimes add cream if I'm using it as a meal replacement.

Is this a FP snack or meal the way you make it with protein?

i just reread your last post and realize it is a snack if 1/2 scoop protein. thank you.

The original shrinker calls for 4 bags of tea, will I get the same results with 2? I only ask because I don't care for the original and absolutely love this one! I could drink it everyday :)

I've always halved the original shrinker recipe, because I could never drink a full 2 quarts of the stuff. I don't know that there is a specific reason why 4 is better than 2, but I figure drinking at least a quart with 2 bags should be plenty to be effective :) Sorry I took so long to get back to you! Hope this helps!

Blessings,

I don't understand the direction "add one to one and half trays of ice".

Sorry Melissa, I don't have an automatic ice machine, just the old fashion ice trays. That amount would be about 12-15 ice cubes, depending on size, I'm guessing. Hope that helps!

4 bags is for maximum weigh loss effects. But I don't like the org. recipe. Trying this one! Thanks.
